Trudy Keller has a formal education in fine arts including an M.A. Degree in Art Education from California State University, Los Angeles. She has studied under several outstanding photographers including Stuart Scofield, Barbara Brundege, Galen Rowell, Stacy Geiken and Aaron Jones. Ms. Keller has received numerous awards for her work in juried shows and her photographs hang in many private collections. Ms. Keller's background includes six years as an advertising photographer, specializing in table top photography. Her creative light painted images were published in many industrial trade magazines. She has worked with both large and medium format cameras but prefers 35mm in the field for its versatility and capability to utilize 300mm to 500 mm lens focal lengths. Ms. Keller often pre-visualizes her images, returning again and again to a single location to capture the utmost creativity. She prefers to photograph during sunrise and sunset when natural light is at its best eliminating the need for colored filters. Ms. Keller's love for the outdoors began early in life. Growing up in Santa Cruz, California, she often visited Yosemite National Park. The grandeur of the Glacier Point Firefall and the spring splendor of Bridalveil and Yosemite Falls are precious childhood memories. In Ms. Keller's words: "I derive much of my inspiration from the beauty, serenity and radiance of the 'Son Light' found in nature. Many images are silent reflections of the inner stillness of God. I wish to share my excitement and passion for the beauty of nature." Indeed, Ms. Keller is sharing that "excitement and passion" with a growing number of collectors. Her photographs are featured in several fine art galleries in the West and, for the first time, are available to an international audience on the World Wide Web. Ms. Keller's photographic endeavors focus on traveling to parks and monuments in the western states as she continually expands her "Nature in Passion" fine art limited edition series. She lives in the Sierra foothills of California. Ms. Keller is a member of the Sierra Professional Artists, the National League of American Penwomen and the Professional Photographers of California.
